- I count myself to the other group - I'm happy with the 2864 and 2864I.
- I've turned on my modem in June '95 and it is turned on since that time
- all the days for 24 hours (just a few power cycles after flashing
- and burning new firmware into the modem).
- I've had NO connect/fax problems using 1.04. Now a few weeks ago
- I've changed the POTS port to ISDN (DSS1 v1.09). It works like
- usual. ISDN X.75 PPP is ok and analog DTE-channel ist still working
- for fax-in/out and V.34 dial-in.
-
- Here is my environment:
-
- cpu: 486/50
- com2: 16550 fifo
- modem/TA: Elite 2864 with firmware 1.04 (2864I with 1.09)
- os: Onsite Unix SVR4.2 Version 1.0
- asyc-driver: sas-1.25 with some fixes
- PPP-sw: pppd-0.85
- fax-sw: HylaFAX v3.0pl1 with fix for the 2864
- DTE-speeds: 38400 for fax and dial-in, 115.200 for dial-out (PPP)
- usage: 24 hours ready for incoming calls, ~4-6 hours PPP
- CONNECT: 24.000-28.800, less then 1 line drop per week
- ISDN 64000/115200 X.75
-
- I did not want to miss my 2864I 'cuze I need it to work.
